National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) - NCATE is a coalition of 33 specialty professional associations of teachers, teacher educators, content specialists, and local and state policy makers. All are committed to quality teaching, and together, the coalition represents over 3 million individuals.

National Commission on Teaching and America's Future (NCTAF) - NCTAF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing every child with competent, caring, qualified teachers in schools organized for success.

Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) - TEAC is a nonprofit organization of institutions of higher education and other groups and individuals devoted to the improvement of academic degree programs for professional educators.

Center for Teaching Quality - Supported by a start-up grant from the BellSouth Foundation, the mission of the Southeast Center for Teaching Quality is to promote the creation and advancement of high-quality teacher development systems in the southeastern United States .

American Educational Research Association - AERA is the most prominent international professional organization, with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application.

Association of Teacher Educators - The Association of Teacher Educators is an individual membership organization devoted solely to the improvement of teacher education both for school-based and post secondary teacher educators.

Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) - The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia , the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions.

Council of the Great City Schools Online - The Council of the Great City Schools is a coalition of 66 of the nation's largest urban public school systems. The Council works to promote urban education through legislation, research, media relations, instruction, management, technology, and other special projects designed to improve the quality of urban education.

National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) - NBPTS is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan and nongovernmental organization. It was formed in 1987 to advance the quality of teaching and learning by developing professional standards for accomplished teaching, creating a voluntary system to certify teachers who meet those standards and integrating certified teachers into educational reform efforts.
